Capsule Geology

The R.T. property is located between Eskridge Creek and Sovereign Mountain, about 40 kilometres east of Quesnel. Access to the area is from the junction of the Barkerville Road with the 1300 logging road.

The area is underlain by Upper Paleozoic Crooked Amphibolite near its contact with Middle-Upper Triassic Nicola Group black phyllite and argillite. In 1993, a rock sample of ultramafic rock (sample #19) by R. Trifaux yielded 0.25 per cent nickel, 0.21 per cent chromium and 142 parts per million cobalt. Mineralization is assumed to be disseminated pentlandite due to the similar geologic setting to the nearby Sovereign (093A 130) and Sovereign Creek (093A 013) showings.
